Swiss Cantons QSL Cards

The Swiss Confederation consists of 26 autonomous cantons (states), each with its own local laws, tax rates, education, and healthcare systems. While the QSL museum has QSL cards from 23 cantons, the other 3 cantons—Glarus, Appenzell Innerrhoden, and Neuchâtel—are missing. They are quite rare in these cantons. The names of the cantons appear below the QSL cards shown below. You can examine them by clicking on them.

HB9JOE Andy and his esteemed wife HB9FPM Eva came to Turkey as part of the TC88YL activity.

“I had the opportunity to meet Andy and his esteemed wife Eva in person. They are two of the most wonderful radio amateurs I have ever known. We carried out a very nice activity together and exchanged our QSL cards. They are particularly interested in SOTA activities. Andy is a very experienced and successful operator in DXpedition.

In QSL cards from the Swiss cantons, I attach particular importance to having the canton’s name and logo on the front side, because I believe these details add great visual value. However, Andy’s QSL card became much more special for me, and I wanted to reserve a separate place for it in my QSL museum. We do not yet have Eva’s QSL card. When it is added to our collection, it too will take the place it deserves here.”

HB9ELE Dietmar (Didi) has exactly 53 QSL cards in the QSL museum. This clearly shows the importance he places on the traditional paper QSL culture. Of course, it would not be possible to omit Didi from the Swiss QSL collection. The QSL cards with different designs that he has used over the years reflect both amateur radio culture and his personal style. Below, you can see 3 different versions of QSL cards belonging to HB9ELE Didi.
