The History of Amateur Radio in Turkey
We aim to bring to light traces of our amateur radio history. By bringing to light QSL cards that have remained hidden for years in forgotten corners and shoeboxes, we want to pass this cultural heritage on to future generations.
Purpose and Mission
As the QSL Museum, our purpose is to keep the frequencies of the past alive in today’s world and to preserve the QSL cards accumulated by amateurs over the years and carry them into the future. Our aim is not only to exhibit the cards, but also to make visible the story and passion behind each one, thereby creating both an archive and inspiration for new generations.
The Story of the Cards
Each QSL card is a silent witness to friendships formed across distances and communication that transcends borders. Sent from mountains, ships, or small towns, these cards are not only documents, but also small works of art reflecting the technology, culture, and amateur spirit of their time.
How Do We Work?
Each card is classified through a meticulous process and scanned in high resolution before being added to the digital archive. It is tagged with information such as call sign, date, and country, making it easily searchable. In this way, old QSL cards come back to life and are transformed into a part of a digital museum accessible to everyone.
